Do you want to help people improve their lives? Are you the first person people come to when they need advice? Is your personality bold, confident and friendly? Are you the type of person who can connect with anybody through a simple conversation?

If you answered yes, then we might want you as our next Career Services Advisor. In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping students and graduates find the jobs that suit their skills and education. To do this, you’ll provide UMA graduates with obtaining Allied Healthcare job interviews, interview preparation, advice on dressing for success and much more. You’ll also build relationships with potential employers to create new placements opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Help students and graduates find employment in their field of study, or in jobs that suit their skills.

  • Talk to students to give them guidance on interview techniques, workplace expectations and more.

  • Build relationships with potential employers in your assigned region.

  • Call hiring managers to create new job opportunities, interviews, hires and placements.

  • Complete all paperwork according to company, government and accreditor standards.

  • Develop and implement plans to achieve student and graduate employment goals.

Skills and Traits You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Dynamic, high-energy personality with strong communication and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven track record in professional sales, business development and/or customer service.

  • Basic computer proficiency.

  • Comfortable working independently or in a team environment.

  • A flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends on occasion.


  • Minimum of 1 year in education, career services, staffing or sales. 2+ years of experience in staffing or career services with 1+ year being in medical staffing or career services in the allied health field preferred.

Compliance Requirements:

  • follow all federal and state compliance requirements and regulations, including those required by the Department of Education, Accrediting agency and CIE. Know and carefully
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to students and other staff and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the appropriate member of the compliance team.
